The International Forum on cooperation and experience exchange in education was organized by the Moscow Institute of Open Education at the request of Department of Education of the city of Moscow on October 23 – 26, 2014. On 16-17 October 2014 the Fifteenth session of the newly appointed IITE Governing Board was held in Moscow. Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, Chancellor of Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (United Arab Emirates) was elected as a Chairperson of the Governing Board. On the invitation of the International Institute of Public Administration of Management (IIPAM) at the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration and the UNESCO Chair at IIPAM, UNESCO IITE Officer-In-Charge, National Programme Officer Prof. Alexander Khoroshilov participated in the events dedicated to the Knowledge Day and the beginning of the new academic year to greet first-year students on behalf of the UNESCO IITE. An English-language publication Open Educational Resources in France: Overview, Perspectives and Recommendations (authored by SophieTouzé, researcher of the University of Lyon) was printed earlier this year in the framework of the UNESCO IITE Project Open Educational Resources in non-English speaking countries. An electronic version of the book has been released in French and can be downloaded from UNESCO IITE E-library. The Second Symposium on Open Educational Resources Beyond Advocacy, Research and Policy was held in Wawasan Open University Penang, Malaysia (which is a recipient of the prize for Institutional Excellence and Materials Development using OER at the recent PCF) from 24th to 27th June, 2014.
