The MOOC created on the basis of results of the UNESCO IITE project "ICT in Primary Education" in cooperation with Institute of Education of the London University and placed on the COURSERA platform https://www.coursera.org/course/ictinprimary, see also IITE News here, was included into the list of 50 best courses for professional development of educators accredited for use by teachers of the USA upon the recommendation of the President Obama: http://blog.coursera.org/post/103050170952/president-obama-supports-free-two-year-coursera.
The training course in English has been developed jointly with the Institute of Education of the University of London as a professional development course for teachers, head-teachers, leaders and policymakers in primary education. The course team has instructors from 8 different countries. The course looked at the why and how of teachers integrating ICT into primary education. The basis of the course is not a particular theoretical approach, but a collection of good and interesting experiences and examples of ICT in primary education from across the world. This course launched on 27 May 2014 was free and open to all. The course ran for 6 weeks, and provided 4-10 hours of study each week. More than 8500 participants from 172 countries have been registered for MOOC on primary education with over 3800 participants (44%) came from emerging economies.
