On 21-23 January 2015, the Workshop on the development of national teachers ICT competency standards was organized by UNESCO Tashkent (TAS) and Bangkok (BKG) offices in the framework of the Regional Project of the Asia and Pacific Regional Bureau of UNESCO for Education on "Supporting Competency-Based Training Reforms to Facilitate ICT-Pedagogy Integration". The MOOC created on the basis of results of the UNESCO IITE project "ICT in Primary Education"  in cooperation with Institute of Education of the London University and placed on the COURSERA platform https://www.coursera.org/course/ictinprimary (see also UNESCO IITE News here) was included into the list of 50 best courses for professional development of educators accredited for use by teachers of the USA upon the recommendation of the President Obama. On 16-17 October 2014 the Fifteenth session of the newly appointed IITE Governing Board was held in Moscow. Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, Chancellor of Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (United Arab Emirates) was elected as a Chairperson of the Governing Board.
