The inter-regional conference “Educational space of Arctic: development through dialog and cooperation” will be held in Yakutsk city (the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Russian Federation) from 3 to 6 August 2010. Within the framework of the conference, the joint project “Teachers of the Arctic”, carried out by UNESCO and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), will be launched. On 25 May 2010 in IFESCCO Headquarters in Moscow Mr Dendev Badarch, Acting Director of the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (IITE), and Mr Armen Smbatyan, Executive Director of the Intergovernmental Foundation for Educational, Scientific and Cultural Cooperation (IFESCCO), signed the agreement on joint implementation of the project aimed at promoting the use of ICTs in technical and vocational education and training (TVET). IITE contributed to the seminar "Internet and teaching of foregn languages", held in Astrakhan (Russian Federation) from 25 to 28 of May by  the Embassy of France in Moscow and Astrakhan State University. Read more ICTs in teaching of foreign languages

In 2010 IITE started a new project devoted to ICT application in preschool education. Within the project IITE is planning to develop and publish a survey “ICTs in preschool education: best practices and policy recommendations”. Read more Technology from early childhood
