Forum of the UNESCO ASPnet of the CIS and Baltic States

The Russian Commission for UNESCO held a Forum of the UNESCO Associated Schools Project Network (ASPnet) of the CIS and Baltic countries on 22-23 November in Kazan, the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia.

The Secretaries-General of the National Commissions for UNESCO from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Moldova, Kyrgystan, Kazakhstan, Tadjikistan, Estonia and the Russian Federation and the National Coordinators of UNESCO ASPnet of the above-mentioned countries participated in the Forum. Eight Regional ASPnet Coordinators of the Russian Federation also took part in this Forum.

At the opening ceremony, Mr. Dendev Badarch, UNESCO representative and Director a.i. of the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (IITE), delivered a welcome address and made a presentation on UNESCO IITE activities during the plenary session.

All ASPnet representatives expressed interest in ICT in education project. The Forum has facilitated the exchange of activities and best practices of the ASPnet schools and provided a new impetus in acceleration of the ASPnet activities in the region. Ms. Pruss, Rector of the Academy of Management TISBI, Kazan was nominated and approved as a new National ASPnet Coordinator for the Russian Federation.
