UNESCO IITE took part in the Zero Project Conference 2016

15 February 2016

The Zero Project Conference 2016, convened by the Essl Foundation, the World Future Council and the European Foundation Centre at the United Nations Office in Vienna, Austria was held on 10-12 February 2016. The event, which gathered innovators from more than 70 countries, highlighted 98 innovative policies and practices concerning inclusive education and/or ICTs from around the world in 35 plenary sessions and workshops. UNESCO IITE and eNANO company signed a Memorandum of Cooperation

On 3 February 2015, UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education and eNANO company held a meeting and discussed the possibilities of joint development of educational programmes with the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) and a new project “Virtual school”. The results of the quiz on the 70th Anniversary of UNESCO

In commemoration of the 70th Anniversary of UNESCO, the Secretariat of the Organization held a quiz, which included 70 questions on the history of UNESCO. Participants of the quiz could demonstrate their knowledge by answering questions such as: In which country the First National Commission for UNESCO was established? Who of the UNESCO staff was awarded the Nobel Prize? What was the first UNESCO programme? What animals are admitted to enter the UNESCO building? ICT in Education Prize Honours Projects from Costa Rica and Singapore

The Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain and UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova awarded the 2015 UNESCO-King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa Prize for the Use of Information and Communication Technologies in Education to the Omar Dengo Foundation’s National Programme of Educational Informatics in Costa Rica and the Open Source Physics project developed by Singapore’s Ministry of Education during a ceremony at UNESCO Headquarters on 13 January 2015. Publication of an online course for higher education teachers and learners in Mongolia

The online-course “New Technologies in Effective Teaching and Learning in Higher Education in the Context of Mongolia, elaborated by the Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST) at the request of IITE and based on IITE's publication and on-line course "Information and Communication Technologies in Education", was launched in December 2015. The course is developed in Mongolian language and is designed for higher education teachers and learners in Mongolia. The International Forum for Partnerships on the Qingdao Declaration

On 21-22 December 2015, the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (IITE) took part in the International Forum for Partnerships on the Qingdao Declaration “Seize digital opportunities, lead education transformation” held in Qingdao, China. The main goal of the Forum was to formalize global partnerships for the operationalization of the Qingdao Declaration, identify main lines of action, and set up the operational strategies for cooperation. UNESCO IITE took part in a scientific and practical conference for teachers

UNESCO IITE became one of the partners and took an active part in the scientific and practical conference with international participation “The Modern Teacher as a Popularizer of Science: the Formation of an Innovative Educational Environment” held by the Autonomous Nonprofit Organization “Center for Innovative Projects in Education “KRON” in Moscow on 19 December 2015. The aim of the event was the development of educational technologies as a prerequisite for the improvement of education quality and successful implementation of federal state educational standards by means of summing up pedagogical experience of using innovative technologies in the educational process. IITE took part in the conference on continuous professional education for persons with disabilities

On December 17 – 18, 2015, the UNESCO IITE took part in the Second International Conference "Continuous Professional Education for Persons with Disabilities" that took place in Minsk, the Republic of Belarus. The Conference was arranged by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, the National Сommission for UNESCO of the Republic of Belarus, the UNESCO Institute of Information Technologies In Education, the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radio Electronics (BSUIR), UNESCO Chair in BSUIR "Professional Education in the Sphere of ICT for Persons with Special Needs". Mr. Ivan Yevmeniyev, Deputy Director of the UNESCO IITE took part in plenary session of Conference with the report "Information Technologies of Inclusive Society: Experience of the UNESCO IITE". UNESCO IITE at the Third All-Russia Congress of UNESCO Chairs

The Third All-Russia Congress of UNESCO Chairs devoted to UNESCO’s 70th anniversary was held in Saint-Petersburg, Russian Federation on 14-15 December 2015.
