The new publication series intends to support the digital transformation of national economies and strengthen the capacity of UNESCO Member States through ICT talent development and digital skills enhancement towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goal 4:

Two international webinars organized by the UNESCO IITE and UNESCO ASPnet in March 2026 brought together educators from across the world to explore how intentional uses of AI in the classroom. Discussions highlighted practical classroom experiences, ethical considerations, and the importance of using AI to foster critical thinking rather than replace learning.

In a compelling keynote address, Ms Shafika Isaacs, Interim Director of UNESCO IITE and Chief of Section for Technology and AI in Education, challenged global leaders to re-examine the “AI talent ecosystem. Her message was clear: as AI infrastructure expands at breakneck speed, we need renewed and urgent commitment to invest in human capacity and human agency".
