On 1 November 2016, UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (IITE) and Federal state budgetary scientific institution "Institute for Strategy of Education Development of the Russian Academy of Education" signed a Memorandum of Cooperation for the purpose of mutual exchange of experience in fundamental and applied research in the field of theory and education development strategy, in the sphere of application of ICT in education and the development of innovative pedagogy.
Institute for Strategy of Education Development is one of the key institutions of the Russian Academy of Education. It is aimed at developing strategies for modernization of national education, carrying out research and scientific activities to ensure decision-making in education and the state educational policy in Russia. Activities of the Institute for Strategy of Education Development correspond with priorities and programmes of UNESCO IITE and include development of new pedagogy, analysis of innovations and global trends in education, development of didactics of the XXI century, supporting the education of teaching staff and teachers professional development.
The Memorandum sets forth the intentions of the parties for cooperation in the field of methodical, scientific and research activities, including the creation of new educational programmes and supporting the development of the state educational policy, development and implementation of innovative educational technologies and innovative teaching methods in the learning process, creation and introduction of ICT competency standards.
The heads of the partner institutions have agreed that one of the important factors of successful development is the exchange of experience and knowledge and cooperation within the framework of international programmes.
