A policy brief “Open Educational Resources in your Own Language, in your Way” translated into Russian

A policy brief “Open Educational Resources in your Own Language, in your Way” produced by the International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE)  in the framework of the project completed with financial support of the European Commission was translated into the Russian language by UNESCO IITE.This publication is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.

The basic idea of this policy brief is aimed at the implementation of the recommendations approved by the 2012 Paris OER Declaration, one of which was to “reinforce the development of strategies and policies on OER, promote the development of specific policies for the production and use of OER within wider strategies for advancing education”.

The need to facilitate the development of OER in less used languages (LUL) is one of the topical issues not only for Europe and Russia, but also for other countries. Taking into account  that as the number of educational resources in the form of OER increases mainly in English, and much less frequently in other languages, the main activity under this project is to promote the dissemination of resources for LUL.

This policy guidelines have been translated into several languages, such as Estonian, Norwegian and Romanian, and now into Russian and Arabic.
