IITE organized a section “ICTs for early childhood and primary education”

IITE organized a working section “ICTs for early childhood and primary education” in the framework of the Second Annual International Scientific Conference “Early Childhood Care and Education” (6-7 December 2012, Moscow, Russia). The Conference was organized by Moscow Pedagogical Academy of Рreschool Education with the support of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, and UNESCO IITE.

At the section the participants discussed the peculiarities of emerging technologies incorporation into early childhood settings in terms of “new pedagogy” development for preschool educators. The chairpersons of the section – IITE external expert Prof. Ivan Kalaš (Comenius University, Slovak Republic) and Dr. Natalia Tokareva (UNESCO IITE) – made presentations on computational thinking” and early childhood education and outcomes of the IITE project on ICTs in early childhood education respectively.

About 180 participants attended the section, including leading professionals responsible for promoting ICT educational hard- and software; specialists, involved in professional education and training of preschool teachers; practitioners working in early childhood education and care as well as primary school experts. Prize ceremony on awarding the laureates of the international competition “ICT in early childhoodeducation” was also held. All the participants were granted with UNESCO IITE certificates of attendance.
