The insight report on the state-of-the-art and perspectives of the ICT skills development for Mongolia was prepared within the project ‘AI Capacity Building in Arabic-speaking Countries and Promoting ICT Education in Central Asia’ implemented jointly by the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education and Huawei Technologies.
The study provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of Mongolia’s development focusing on government commitments to digital transformation, the enhancement of digital infrastructure, support for the ICT industry, and the alignment of higher education and R&D with the evolving demands of the labour market and the digital economy. It outlines a number of initiatives and programmes aimed at ICT skills development.
Based on the existing challenges influencing ICT and AI capacity building, the publication provides recommendations for further sustainable actions. The report is intended to assist stakeholders in gaining a better understanding of the development of ICT skills in Mongolia.
The publication is part of a broader series of insight reports on ICT skills development that intend to support the digital transformation of national economies and strengthen the capacities of UNESCO Member States through ICT talent development towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goal 4.
