The Insight Report with Recommendations “ICT Skills Development in the Republic of Uzbekistan” opens a new series of publications developed by UNESCO IITE in partnership with Huawei Technologies within the joint project “Al Capacity Building in Arabic-Speaking Countries and Promoting ICT Education in Central Asia”.
The publication provides a comprehensive assessment of Uzbekistan`s digital transformation, labour market and higher education system through the lens of ICT skills development. It examines the socio-economic context, digital landscape and government initiatives driving the digital economy. It elaborates on the relevance of higher education and training programmes to the labour market requirements for ICT skills. The report concludes with a summary of key achievements and challenges and provides recommendations to accelerate ICT skills development in the country.
The report findings aim to guide policymakers, educators and industry leaders in shaping strategies that will cultivate a skilled ICT workforce, promote innovation and enhance Uzbekistan digital economy.
The new series of insight reports on ICT skills development intends to support the digital transformation of national economies and strengthen the capacity of Central Asia countries through ICT talent development towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goal 4: redesigning higher education and TVET in line with labour market demands and fostering the development of national ICT skills strategies.
