UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (IITE) will establish a Resource Center equipped with specialized technologies for people with disabilities. Within the framework of IITE’s project “ICT in Education for People with Disabilities”, AbleNet Inc provided the Institute with software and specialized equipment for training of people with communication and speech impairments and people with motor impairments. The Resource Center will focus on the implementation of projects on ICT in education and social rehabilitation of people with disabilities, which will include the organization of training seminars, master classes and round tables. The Center will become a base for training and professional development of specialists working in the field of training and rehabilitation of disabled people, and for the implementation of educational programmes aimed to ensure the accessibility of information and education resources for people with disabilities. It is also planned to develop training materials and recommendations on the use of hardware and software.
