The Insight Report with Recommendations “ICT Skills Development in Turkmenistan” was developed by UNESCO IITE in partnership with Huawei Technologies within the joint project “Al Capacity Building in Arabic-Speaking Countries and Promoting ICT Education in Central Asia”.
The report intends to support the digital transformation of Turkmenistan’s education system and economy by providing recommendations for the development of ICT skills and the talent ecosystem. It presents a comprehensive assessment of key policies, emerging trends and existing challenges related to the country’s digital economy, labour market, and higher education system through the lens of ICT skills development. The findings of the report aim to guide policymakers, educators and industry leaders in shaping effective strategies to drive the growth of skilled ICT workforce, fostering innovation and enhancing Turkmenistan’s digital economy.
The publication is part of a series of insight reports on ICT skills development that aims to facilitate the digital transformation of national economies and strengthen the capacities of Central Asia countries through ICT talent development towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goal 4 “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all”.
