ICT Skills Development in the Republic of Kazakhstan: Insight Report with Recommendations

The Insight Report with Recommendations “ICT Skills Development in the Republic of Kazakhstan” opens a new series of publications developed by UNESCO IITE in partnership with Huawei Technologies within the joint project “Al Capacity Building in Arabic-Speaking Countries and Promoting ICT Education in Central Asia”.

The publication examines the state of the art and perspectives of ICT skills development in the Republic of Kazakhstan. It provides a comprehensive overview of the country’s socio-economic context and digital landscape and outlines the government’s commitment to the development of the national economy and ICT industry. The report describes the status quo of the economy, ICT industry and digital infrastructure and elaborates on aligning education and training with labour market demands for ICT skills. In conclusion, the report outlines key challenges and offers recommendations for advancing the ICT skills indispensable in the AI era.

The new series of insight reports on ICT skills development intends to support the digital transformation of national economies and strengthen the capacity of Central Asia countries through ICT talent development towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goal 4: redesigning higher education and TVET in line with labour market demands and fostering the development of national ICT skills strategies.
