The Handbook provides recommendations on organizing flexible learning in emergencies and presents the Chinese experience in maintaining undisrupted learning in the COVID-19 outbreak.
The Handbook, developed by UNESCO International Research and Training Centre for Rural Education (UNESCO INRULED), UNESCO Institute for information technologies in education (UNESCO IIITE) and Smart Learning Institute of Beijing Normal University (SLIBNU) together with their collaboration partners, describes several flexible online learning strategies implemented in China during the COVID-19 outbreak. The authors sought to define the concept of “flexible learning” using vivid examples and touching stories, based on the innovative experiences of the collaboration between millions of teachers and students.
This publication can help educators, researchers, and practitioners solve their challenges and organize their work in emergencies, such as the COVID-19 pandemic.
