UNESCO IITE Participated in the All-Russian Pedagogical Forum “Educator 2040”

On December 11–12, 2025, the All-Russian Pedagogical Forum “Educator 2040: Innovations in Subject-Methodological Training” was held at the Institute for Professional Development of Teachers of the Moscow State Pedagogical University. The Forum served as a platform for discussing strategic tasks in teacher professional training and development and the changes in the content of pedagogical education, as well as for presenting scientific-methodological developments and best educational practices of universities engaged in teacher training.

The Forum participants were welcomed by Alexey Lubkov, Rector of MSPU, who emphasized the importance of issues related to the content of pedagogical education, including the impact of digital technologies on teaching and upbringing processes. The plenary session of the Forum addressed topics such as regional needs in teacher preparation, the nurturing environment of universities, the foundational nature of pedagogical education, preparing students for teaching activities, and the role of artificial intelligence in the professional training and development of teachers.

Tatiana Murovana, Programme Specialist at UNESCO IITE, spoke at the Forum’s plenary session, sharing UNESCO’s developments in the future of education and in the teaching profession. She also presented a series of free Russian-language online courses for educators elaborated by UNESCO IITE, aimed at developing competencies and forming pedagogical strategies for the effective and ethical integration of generative artificial intelligence into teaching and learning processes.

The Forum continued with eight thematic sections dedicated to discussing the best practices of pedagogical universities in subject-methodological teacher preparation. The event brought together over 400 representatives from universities, organizations of secondary and additional professional education involved in teacher training, as well as education policy makers working at various levels.
