UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (IITE) is pleased to welcome a new member of its Governing Board Mr Igor Ganshin. Mr Ganshin currently holds the position of Director of the International Department of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. Before joining the International Department of the Ministry in 2014, he was a Professor at the Saint Petersburg State University of Economics. Previously he worked as an Adviser for Science at the Consulate of Russia in the People’s Republic of China and a Vice-consul of the General Consulate of Russia in Shanghai. Mr Ganshin graduated from the Moscow Aviation Institute, named after S. Ordzhonikidze, with a degree in Aircraft Radio Electronics (1988) and the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation with a degree in International Relations. He is an Honorary Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation.
Mr Igor Ganshin has been closely involved with the activities of the UNESCO IITE Governing Board for the last several years, representing the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. As a member of the Governing Board, he will facilitate further development of the UNESCO IITE and help determine general lines of actions and strategy of the Institute within the framework of the UNESCO general policy.
