UNESCO`s Education Sector organized Leadership Team Meeting on 19 May 2017 at the Headquarters in Paris. The Leadership Team Meeting aimed to reaffirm strong collaboration among different units of the Education Sector (ED) and to discuss a number of important issues. Mr. Qian Tang, Assistant Director-General for Education, kindly hosted heads of all Category 1 Institutes of UNESCO, regional offices on education and key staff members of the ED. The Director of UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (IITE), Mr. Tao Zhan also joined the ED Leadership Team meeting and took part in all strategic discussions. The meeting was centered on setting future directions for achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 and developing further cooperation with ED partners. UNESCO’s Education Sector programme, plans to mobilize extrabudgetary resources, new publications and staff trainings were included in the team discussion. The Leadership Team highlighted the importance of the close cooperation among the Headquarters, field offices and the seven education Institutes of UNESCO.
