The International Exhibition-Fair Treasures of the North is held annually with the support of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, the Nationalities Committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, the State Duma Committee for the problems of the North and the Far East, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Federal Agency for Tourism of the Russian Federation, the Council of the Evenks of the Russian Federation.
The programme of the International Exhibition-Fair in 2014 included two conferences "Pedagogy of the North: Integration into a Common Educational Space" and "Ethnographic Tourism as a Way of Revival and Preservation of Ethnic and Cultural Heritage", as well as master classes for various handicrafts (wood,bone and stone carving, incrustation by bone and semi-precious stones, hand-painted fabrics and stuffing, leather and fur items, painting on the skin and bark, weaving belts, beading).
On the day of opening of the International Exhibition-Fair Treasures of the North 2014 the visitors could get acquainted with the results of the UNESCO IITE project "Climate Change Adaptation: Traditional Knowledge of Indigenous Peoples of the Arctic and the Far North". The CD containing multimedia modules, based on traditional knowledge of indigenous peoples of the North, attracted great interest of the representatives of local communities, ethnic and cultural centers, and associations of indigenous peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East.
