The all-Russian scientific and practical conference "Our new school" – "Northern School": models of ethnic and cultural education of the North, Siberia and the Far East of the Russian Federation in conditions of implementation of the national initiative «Our new school» was held on 11 April 2012 in the Russian Academy of Education (RAE) in Moscow. The conference was organized by the RAO, the Institute of Education of Indigenous Minority Peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East and the Association of Indigenous Peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East. Within the five thematic modules, there have been reviewed and discussed the problems of research and organization of education of ethnocultural minorities of the North, Siberia and the Far East. UNESCO IITE was presented by Prof. Alexander Khoroshilov, the National Programme Officer of the Institute, in the thematic module № 3 “The education of children in their native languages ??and the problems of training teachers for educational institutions of the North, Siberia and the Far East”. Prof. Khoroshilov delivered a speech and made a presentation on “Teachers of the Arctic”, a priority project of the UNESCO IITE.
