Call for Proposals: Production of video collection on the use of AI in Education (Re-advertisement)

UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (UNESCO IITE) and Shanghai Open University (SOU) jointly implement the project “Promoting ICT Capacity Building and Open Education in the Era of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies”.  The project has achieved multiple outcomes in research and practice through cooperation of both parties in 2021-25. In order to reinforce the project outcomes already in place, UNESCO IITE and SOU are committed to further broadening joint research coverage and areas and enhancing teachers’ digital technology competencies and advocating for the utilization of WEB 3.0 technologies, including immersive experiences, blockchain and generative AI in the realm of education and instructional design. In 2026 the goal is to include more diverse and rich examples in existing courses framework to enhance the overall guidance provided to teachers and improve the practical support the course offers.

 

To reach this goal UNESCO IITE is looking for an individual consultant, being able in close cooperation with UNESCO IITE and SOU teams to provide the project with up-to-date and actual video materials.

In particular, the consultant shall carry out the following tasks:

 

  1. Produce the Video Collection with the description and recommendations for use of the promoting practices of AI applications in several educational dimensions, reflecting UNESCO AI competencies framework for teachers and AI Literacies by D.Belshaw (a total of 15 videos).

The cases should cover the topics related to the corresponding framework elements, aspects and progression levels:

1.3. Constructive AI Literacies

1.4. Communicative AI Literacies

1.5. Confident AI Literacies

1.6. Creative AI Literacies

1.7. Critical AI Literacies

1.9. UNESCO AI CFT aspect: Human centered mindset in three progression levels

1.10. UNESCO AI CFT aspect: Ethics of AI in three progression levels

1.11. UNESCO AI CFT aspect: AI foundations and applications in three progression levels

1.12. UNESCO AI CFT aspect: AI Pedagogy in three progression levels

1.13. UNESCO AI CFT aspect: AI for Professional Development in three progression levels

1.14. Constellations of the AI Literacies and dimensions of UNESCO AI CFT

1.15. Signature Practices

 

Cases should include descriptions of challenges in integrating AI into teaching and learning as well as in improving AI competencies among teachers and students, effect analysis and future application suggestions. More detailed text materials for supporting videos should also be provided (scripts, translations, presentations if any).

  • The video files should include high-quality graphic images, audio elements, appropriate background, and subtitles in the English language. The minimum length of the video should be no less than 5 minutes, and the maximum length of each video should not exceed 10 minutes.
  • The format of videos: MPEG-4/H.264. Video recording should be carried out with a maximum level of quality, in full HD 1080p (minimum) or UHD 4K (desired), and optimized for mobile devices. Subtitle files are provided separately in SRT format.
  • The deliverables must be prepared in full compliance with the UNESCO Style Manual for the presentation of English-language texts: http://unesdoc.unesco.org/images/0014/001418/141812e.pdf, and in a tone that is reader-friendly for its intended audience, i.e., educators and policymakers.

 

The video and text materials shall be submitted to UNESCO IITE for consideration by April 30, 2026. The consultant shall make changes based on the feedback provided and deliver the final version of the videos to UNESCO IITE by June 1, 2026.

 

  1. During the contract period, participate in the online working meetings with the IITE – SOU project team as well as write responses to the questions.

Candidate specification:

The prospective candidate should

  • hold an advanced university degree (Master or equivalent) in Education or Social Sciences,
  • have a proven record of desktop research in the area of education, no less than 5 years of relevant experience,
  • possess necessary and sufficient ICT competencies, including the relevant experience in video interviewing
  • be fluent in English and proficient in communication.
