“UN in Russia” Bulletin №2 (May-August 2024) has been released

News of UN agencies and organizations for the period from May to August 2024 is available in the second issue of the “UN in Russia” Bulletin.

This issue features an article about an international symposium, held in May 2024 in Lusaka, Zambia. At the symposium UNESCO and UNICEF announced the joint launch of the Building Strong Foundations initiative to develop foundational education for health and well-being and to help young children and adolescents learn essential life skills. The event was attended by Ekaterina Khaustova, Program Manager of the Investment to the Future Charitable Foundation. UNESCO IITE has been collaborating with the Foundation for several years to promote educational programs focused on students’ social and emotional development in an environment that fosters their personal growth.

The Bulletin also provides information about UNESCO IITE webinar dedicated to the use of AI tools in school teaching. This event, held virtually in May 2024 in partnership with Europass Teacher Academy (Italy), highlighted the transformative potential of AI in education and served as a vibrant platform for exploring innovative AI applications, sharing some of best practices, and addressing ethical concerns.

In addition, the information about the High-Level Regional Policy Dialogue in Central Asia themed “Facilitating GenAI-driven Higher Education Transformation” is also published in the issue. The event was successfully held in June 2024 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. It was dedicated to the topic “Promoting the transformation of higher education based on generative artificial intelligence”. During the discussions, participants explored a variety of strategies and initiatives related to the application of generative artificial intelligence in higher education.
