The training workshops with the iPad for teachers of UNESCO Associated Schools organized by IITE in partnershipwith Apple Professional Development (APD) and re:Storetook place on its premises on 15-16 December, 2016. About 60 teachers of the UNESCO Associated Schools and the heads of departments of educational institutions interested in introduction of tablet technologies in the educational process attended the event. The program included such topics such “Using the Tablet in the Classroom”, “Tablet Technologies in Education for Children with Disabilities” and “Tablet Programming in Primary and Secondary Schools”. Participants heard a presentation of the UNESCO IITE Officer-In-Charge Alexander Khoroshilov on IITE’s new initiatives for teachers in the context of the UNESCO Education 2030 Framework for Action. Tigran Yepoyan, UNESCO Regional HIV & Health Education Advisor,told about necessary factors for creating healthy and inclusive learning environments for all members of the school community. The IITE program specialist Natalya Amelina informed the audience of Institute’s projects on ICT in education for children with disabilities. At the master-classes, certified APD Programme trainers Anna Razdorskaya and Olga Ryasnaya-Bredikhina introducedto trainees the basic possibilities of using the tablet iPadin the learning process, innovative forms of the organization of educational activities and implementation of an individual approach to learners regardless of their level of training and features of perception, taught them how to use variouseducational tablet technologies (virtual characters, real objects – Sphero robots, LEGO WeDo), as well as how to work with theSwift Playgrounds application when teaching the basics of programming in secondary school.
