The scientific and practical Conference "Information Technologies and Law", organized by the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications of the Moscow Region and dedicated to the World Intellectual Property Day, was held on 26 April 2012 in the House of Moscow region government in the framework of the project "Trust". At the conference there have been discussed topical issues of legal regulation of relations in the sphere of information technologies, ensuring information rights of citizens, law enforcement practices in the sphere of information security, training of specialists in the field of information law.
The conference was attended by the heads of the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications of the Moscow region, representatives of the Institute of State and Law (ISL) of the Russian Academy of Sciences, NRU "Higher School of Economics," the Arbitration Court of Moscow and Moscow region, the World Bank in Moscow, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, NRU "MIET", the Russian State Academy of Intellectual Property, Department of Internal Affairs of Moscow Region, the Ministry of Press and Information of the Moscow Region, representatives of municipalities of the Moscow region and other interested organizations.
On behalf of the UNESCO IITE, Prof. Alexander Khoroshilov, National Programme Officer, made a presentation at the specialized roundtable meeting organized within the Conference. He presented the views of UNESCO on issues of ICTs and law and informed the participants about activities of the UNESCO IITE in this sphere.
