In the framework of the joint IFESCCO*/ UNESCO IITE project, aimed at strengthening and further development of information and communication technologies (ICTs) use in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Ukraine, an on-line meeting of national experts and UNESCO IITE team members was held on 20 May 2011.
The main aim of this teleconference was to discuss an analytical report, prepared by the Expert Team Coordinator D. Tischenko on the basis of the findings of the comparative studies on the current situation and main trends within the use of ICTs in TVET in 10 countries: Azerbaijan, Armenia. Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine. National experts paid particular attention to the discussion of the recommendations on enhancing ICTs use in TVET, their adaptation and modification in line with their countries’ needs.
Prof. A. Khroshilov, National Programme Officer, UNESCO IITE Capacity Development Team Leader, acted as a moderator of the meeting. He underlined the importance of promotion of broad ICTs use in TVET as a crucial component of CIS countries' informatization policies in the sphere of education in contexts of Knowledge Society formation.
The experts will meet to continue their joint work on in the beginning of July 2011.
