International Dialogue on Education. A joint initiative of UNESCO IITE, “Investment in the Future” Charitable Foundation and Moscow City University.

On April 24–25, 2025, Moscow is hosting an international workshop and strategic planning meeting for the project “Empowering through Education for Health and Well-Being in a Learning Environment.” The event is being held at Moscow City University and the “Investment in the Future” Charitable Foundation.

The workshop is organized by the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (IITE), the “Investment in the Future” Charitable Foundation, and Moscow City University. Participants include representatives from educational academies, universities, schools, educational development institutes, public organizations, and representatives from UNESCO, the “Investment in the Future” Charitable Foundation, and Moscow City University. Countries represented include Belarus, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

Since 2022, UNESCO IITE and the “Investment in the Future” Charitable Foundation have been working with countries in Eastern Europe and Central Asia on education for health and well-being within and educational environment that fosters personality development. This workshop aims to review the progress made over the past three years and to define strategic priorities for the future.

The two-day workshop will culminate in the launch of a new international professional development initiative for educators under the same title. This initiative is intended to strengthen international collaboration among educational institutions in developing and promoting tools that support personality development, social and emotional learning, and healthy lifestyles education for the health and well-being of learners.

“The first day of our meeting proved to be both highly productive and truly inspiring. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all participants, speakers, and organizers for your excellent work. I am confident that the jointly developed Roadmap for 2025–2026 and our strong partnership will continue to engage more and more schools across different countries in this vital and necessary work—advancing education for health and well-being within a personality-developing learning environment.”

Tao Zhan, Director of the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (IITE)

“Today, we clearly see well-being emerging as a central focus in education. Society increasingly recognizes the need to create spaces where everyone can grow and develop harmoniously. We are proud that our experience in building personal development–focused educational environments resonates with colleagues from various countries. This reaffirms that, despite cultural differences, we all strive toward the same goal: creating environments where every child and every teacher feels safe, supported, and empowered to grow.”
