Overview of the functions of the post
Main responsibilities:
Under the overall authority of the Director of UNESCO IITE and direct supervision of the Chief of the Unit of Digital Pedagogy and Learning Materials, the incumbent will perform the following tasks:
- Provide support to the implementation of regular programme activities and extrabudgetary projects of the Unit.
- Contribute to the collection of data and preliminary analysis of information in the area of activity of the Unit.
- Prepare supporting documents to conclude contracts in accordance with UNESCO rules and requirements.
- Assist liaising with partner organizations and relevant stakeholders, including UN agencies, National Commissions for UNESCO and ministries of education of UNESCO Member States.
- Facilitate the organisation of training courses and events held within the Unit activities.
- Provide informational support and assist in coordinating the publishing activity of the Unit, draft, translate and revise press releases, news articles and other information materials related to activity of the Unit.
- Fulfill other assignments requested by the Director of UNESCO IITE and the Chief of the Unit.
Required qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in education, social science and related fields.
Work Experience:
- At least five years of relevant professional experience in the field of education and/or implementation of educational projects.
- Experience in the provision of administrative, organizational and logistical support to projects implementation.
Languages:
- Excellent knowledge of spoken and written Russian and English.
Skills/Competencies:
- Excellent project implementation support skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite and use of advanced ICT tools.
- Capacity to work under time and resource constraints.
- Ability to establish amicable working relations with colleagues.
- Strong respect for diversity.
Desirable qualifications
Work Experience:
- Familiarity with the UNESCO priorities, major initiatives on equity, inclusion and ICT use in education.
- Experience in support of projects on the advancement of SDGs and the development of online learning tools and ICT competencies of students and teachers.
- Experience of work with the United Nations Organization would be an asset.
Conditions of employment
- Employment regulations of the Russian Federation are applied to this position. Monthly salary is about 67,000 RUB subject to income tax. Additional premium scheme is available based on performance after the probation period of three months.
