Under the supervision of the Chief of the Unit of Teacher Professional Development and Networking, the Individual Consultant shall engage in implementation of TPDN activities. The Consultant shall actively participate in the meetings and discussions pertaining to the designated project initiatives in close collaboration with the TPDN team.
In particular, the Individual Consultant shall:
- Develop a desktop analysis on the promoting ICT-based gamification in education of persons with disabilities, including rationale, description of main trends and description of some examples followed by the references. Submit the results of the task (at least 10 pages; font – Calibri; font size – 12; line space – 1.5) by June 28, 2024.
- Conduct desktop research and gather information on main trends of ICT and AI application in environmental education and sustainable development with the description of main trends, examples of application in schools and followed by the references. Submit the results of the search (at least 10 pages; font – Calibri; font size – 12; line space – 1.5) by July 14, 2024.
- Contribute to the project to joint IITE-Weidong project “Building future schools with ICT competence and innovative pedagogy” with the desktop research on the ways of designing and use of an AI-based tutor application, which can support teachers with curriculum and lesson’s plans development and promoting individual training/guidance for them. The research paper should include description of main trends of AI-based tutor application in TVET and higher education, contain some examples of application with description of main functions and approaches to its development. Submit the results of the search (at least 10 pages; font – Calibri; font size – 12; line space – 1.5) by July 30, 2024.
- Conduct research and gather information on main trends of digital skills and lifelong training opportunities for elderly with disabilities with the description of main trends, examples of technologies application and followed by the references. Submit the results of the search (at least 10 pages; font – Calibri; font size – 12; line space – 1.5) by August 30, 2024.
- Facilitate the enhancement of the Chinese version of the E-Library for Teachers platform by translating open educational resources from Chinese into English, participating in the working meetings with the Chinese-speaking donor, preparing news on the results of the “Teaching in the 21st century 2.0” competition in English and Chinese languages. Submit report on the achievements by September 30, 2024.
Required background and qualifications:
- University degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in education, teacher training, social science, and related fields.
- At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in the field of education and teacher training.
- Experience in drafting high-quality, clear, concise, evidence-based documents and reports.
- High proficiency in MS Office Suite and use of advanced ICT tools.
- Capacity to remain efficient under time and resource constraints.
Desirable qualifications
Work experience:
- Familiarity with the UNESCO Priorities, major initiatives on Equity, Inclusion, ICT and AI use in Education.
Languages
Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and Chinese. Knowledge of Russian language will be an advantage.
