What topics the round table meeting raises:

The round table meeting will discuss issues related to tolerance – a life attitude that every teenager needs to build trusting relationships, see value in diversity and respect themselves and others. EduHub experts will discuss the following topics:

  • Why are tolerance skills becoming increasingly relevant in the lives of teenagers today?
  • How does accepting one’s uniqueness help a teenager to build healthy relationships? What techniques and advice can parents and teachers give to support a teenager?
  • What makes empathy a «social super skill» that can bring people closer together and strengthen connections? How can teachers develop this quality in teenagers and help them see value in differences?
  • What skills help teenagers build not only friendly but also romantic relationships based on respect? How can parents and teachers prepare them for it?
  • What to do if a teenager rejects «others» – because of cultural, personal or any other differences? How can adults turn this into an educational moment and teach tolerance to teenagers?
  • Does tolerance always mean unconditional acceptance? How can teenagers learn to distinguish respecting others’ beliefs and having to accept something that is contrary to their values?
  • What mistakes do adults make while teaching tolerance to teenagers, and how can these mistakes be avoided?

Round table meeting participants: school teachers, class teachers, social workers; specialists in caring professions, medical workers, psychologists; parents of children and teenagers; representatives of public organizations, journalists and bloggers.
