Call for participation in the 6th Global Competition on Design for Future Education

About competition

The 6th Global Competition on Design for Future Education is jointly organized by Beijing Normal University (BNU), UNESCO IITE, international organizations, universities, and well-known enterprises. The competition is open to college students and primary and secondary school teachers. With the theme of AI and Education, Metaverse and Education, Rural Education, Inclusive Education, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data and Psychology, it aims to explore future-oriented educational solutions for better opportunities for humankind. To participate in the competition, interested candidates should register on the official website.

Phases 

The competition is from March 1st to August 2023, consisting of two phases: First Round and Global Finals, which includes project submission, review, optimization, online trainings, forums, etc. For students, the deadline for online registration and team building is April 18th (GMT+8). For teachers, the deadline for online registration and case-study submission is May 18th (GMT+8). 

Students can enroll as an individual and then team up on the official website, eventually participating in a team of 5-6 persons. Teachers can enroll either as an individual or as a team to submit online case studies using a template and supplementary materials (PowerPoint presentations, Videos, Courseware, etc.) from the official website. 

Call for posters and videos

In addition, there are two activities – a Call for Posters (For college students) with the theme of “My Vision for the Futures of Education” and a Call for Videos (For primary and secondary school teachers) with the theme of “5-Minute Mini Lesson on Knowledge Points in K12” to demonstrate how teachers and students in different countries reflect on education. The deadline for poster/video submission and public review is May 18th (GMT+8).

Call for Posters: college students can download the application form from the official website and submit the project and application form by email to d4fe@bnu.edu.cn.

Call for Videos: primary and secondary school teachers can register and submit the video in the E-Library platform initiated by UNESCO IITE and NetDragon.

Prizes

Besides being part of a global community to contribute to designing better futures of education, winners in the competition will receive certificates issued by UNESCO IITE, trophies, prizes, and letters of recommendation from BNU and other partners. The winning projects will be included in the Competition Collection of Excellent Projects to the E-Library platform. The winners could be invited to attend the conferences hosted by BNU, such as Global Smart Education Conference, etc.
