Violence and bullying at schools deprive millions of children and adolescents of their fundamental right to education. According to UNESCO, more than 30% of students all over the globe are experience bullying. Violence and bullying at school negatively affect the physical and mental health of students, reduce their motivation to go to school and study and cause suicidal thoughts and attempts.
Today, November 7, marks the sixth International Day against Violence and Bullying at School, including Cyberbullying. The decision to mark this Day on the first Thursday of November was made by UNESCO Member States in 2019 to draw public attention to the problem of violence and bullying.
UNESCO IITE and the international educational platform EduHub offer teachers, psychologists, all interested specialists and parents free basic and advanced courses on the prevention of violence and bullying at school. Register for the courses here.
