Resolution of the Conference

In order to enhance the quality of education and pedagogic work in UNESCO ASPnet Schools of CIS and Baltic countries, the Conference recommends:

• To build up interregional sub-network of UNESCO Associated Schools of the Russian Federation, CIS and Baltic countries coordinated by UNESCO IITE
• To start the formation of unified information-education-cultural space and virtual community of teachers and students practices in UNESCO Associated Schools of the Russian Federation, CIS and Baltic countries for sharing ICT application experience in school education.
• To create specialized information-education resource of UNESCO Associated Schools as part of UNESCO IITE Internet portal
• To prepare project proposals on development and realization of UNESCO IITE and UNESCO Associated Schools Pilot project "Smart School of the Future", embracing the Russian Federation, CIS and Baltic countries by UNESCO IITE in collaboration with national and regional coordinators
• To determine with the help of national/regional coordinators of UNESCO ASPnet one educational institution in each region as a testing site for realization of “Smart School of the Future” Pilot project

Within the frame of “Smart School of the Future” Pilot project activities:

• To work out the requirements for unified information-education-cultural and administrative environment of UNESCO Associated Schools
• To agree on inner standards for UNESCO Associated Schools (technological, linguistic, teaching, security, procedural and institutional)
• To draw up and launch specialized professional development programmes for UNESCO Associated Schools staff in on-line, off-line and mixed form on the base of UNESCO IITE
• To develop integrated courses being of interest to all UNESCO ASPnet schools (similar to the pilot course “Libraries Development and Information Literacy”)
• To define effective ways of language competence enhancement in UNESCO Associated Schools
• To devise interaction mechanisms between UNESCO ASPnet and UNESCO Chairs
• To maintain cooperation with IT-companies in order to select the best solutions for UNESCO Associated Schools and their practical implementation
• To attract through UNESCO IITE top foreign experts for realization of particular Pilot project tasks
• To prepare for publication the papers on best practices of ICTs application in UNESCO Associated Schools
• To organize the Conference for UNESCO IITE and UNESCO Associated Schools annually
